Come celebrate Canada 150 at the Ireland House Museum
! Register your group for our ‘1867: Taste of the Seasons’ program. Through a four part series, this program explores activities typical of a day in the life of an Ontario family circa 1867. The program will run from March to December, with a different season featured for each series. Participants will experience informative video presentations by community partners, engage in first person interpretation, and participate in hands-on activities.
Ontario’s history is inextricably linked to and influenced by the land and its use, and as a result the province has a long and rich agricultural history. Join us from June to August, and enjoy homemade vegetable soup cooked in our summer kitchen, try your hand at gardening in our historic kitchen garden, and learn about the significance of kitchen gardens through a video developed by Harrowsmith Magazine.
